Improve Your Life
As an Integrative Health Practitioner, I conduct a comprehensive assessment of your health and lifestyle history to identify the underlying factors contributing to your symptoms and concerns. Utilizing a root-cause approach, we can address the fundamental dysfunctions, resulting in symptom relief, an enhanced quality of life, and optimized overall performance.
What is Integrative Health?
Integrative health is a whole-body approach that combines modern medicine with all forms of natural medicine and therapies to support overall well-being. Rather than focusing solely on isolated symptoms, this method examines how your body, emotions, environment, and lifestyle interact. This means we concentrate on identifying and supporting the underlying factors of your health challenges while empowering you to take an active role in your healing process.
Integrative Health vs Traditional Medicine
Integrative Health can be particularly beneficial for managing chronic conditions by promoting long-term balance and reducing side effects. Traditional medicine remains crucial in emergency situations where rapid standardized interventions, such as surgery or medication, are needed to stabilize a patient. While traditional medicine excels in acute, life-threatening scenarios, integrative health’s comprehensive methods often provide more sustainable benefits for chronic conditions by addressing their underlying causes providing long term relief of symptoms.
What Health Conditions can be Explored?
Integrative health and specialty functional medicine testing focus on identifying underlying imbalances that may contribute to a wide range of health conditions. While this list does not cover everything, the following are some examples of both chronic and minor concerns that can be explored deeper. *Please note that I do not diagnose, treat, or cure any conditions.
Autoimmune & Inflammatory Conditions: Such as rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, and inflammatory bowel disorders.
Metabolic & Endocrine (Hormone) Imbalances: Including type 2 diabetes, metabolic syndrome, insulin resistance, thyroid irregularities, adrenal imbalances, and polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS).
Gastrointestinal Disorders: Such as Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), Gastroesophageal Reflux (GERD), celiac disease, Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth (SIBO), as well as issues like bloating, constipation, poor digestion, and diarrhea.
Neurological & Pain-Related Issues: Including migraines, chronic headaches, fibromyalgia, brain fog, extreme fatigue, and neuropathy.
Mental & Emotional Health Concerns: Such as anxiety, depression, attention deficit disorders, obsessive compulsive disorders, and stress-related symptoms.
Respiratory & Allergic Conditions: Including asthma, seasonal allergies, and chronic sinusitis.
Dermatological Issues: Such as acne, eczema, psoriasis, and rosacea.
Nutritional & Lifestyle-Related Concerns: Including nutrient deficiencies, fatigue, challenges with weight management, and chronic inflammation.
Environmental Sensitivities: Such as chemical sensitivities, allergy symptoms, and exposure to toxins.
Common Health Concerns: Including common colds, seasonal symptoms, sleep dysregulation, weight management, and minor digestive discomfort.
This comprehensive approach helps in understanding the possible contributing factors behind these conditions, empowering you to make informed decisions about your overall well-being.
What Does the Process Look Like?
The process begins with an initial consultation where we take a deep dive into your past health history, discussing your concerns, symptoms, and any previous lab results if applicable, along with recommendations for any new tests (1 hour).
In the second visit, we review any lab results and develop a comprehensive protocol to address underlying issues (1 hour).
The third session is a check-in to evaluate progress and make any necessary adjustments (30 minutes), followed by an additional check-in that may include further testing if applicable (30 minutes) with all visits generally spaced out every 4-6 weeks unless discussed otherwise. It is typically recommended to have at least 3-4 visits with your provider to identify all factors affecting your current state of health and establish the optimal guide for longterm health.
Throughout this journey you'll receive one-on-one coaching, personalized wellness plans/protocols, and email and text support Monday through Friday.
What is Specialty Testing?
Specialty testing in Integrative Health is a set of advanced tests that give a deeper look at how your body is working on multiple levels. These tests go beyond what traditional labs typically assess, measuring markers such as mold and environmental toxins, candida, gut bacteria and parasites, heavy metals and minerals, nutritional markers, detox pathways, neurotransmitters, hormones, thyroid and adrenal function, food sensitivities, and inflammation. By uncovering imbalances that might be missed with standard testing, this approach offers a more comprehensive understanding of your health, helping to pinpoint the root causes of your symptoms and guide personalized strategies for long-term well-being.
